Fly12 On Board for Red Hook Crit Brooklyn

June 1, 2016

Fixed gear, full throttle, loose racing. This year’s Red Hook Crit in Brooklyn was mind blowing; multiple restarts, crashes that went viral, this one was a real nail biter. With riders from over 20 countries competing, the vibe and atmosphere was electric.

Fly12 was on board with Daniel Holloway, crit champion and  who summed up Red Hook perfectly with this:

“Red Hook isn’t like your normal USA Cycling categorized races where you have to go through the steps and fit this norm of what cycling is. If you want to sign up for the Crit and you can do a hot lap that qualifies you, then run it. You could wear jean shorts and a T-shirt or you could take it super seriously. I think that’s the big draw for a lot of people. It’s the meeting of both worlds – this free spirit versus the guys who take racing as a livelihood.”

STRAVA also shared our bike camera footage in this STRAVA story. The article is definitely worth a read, it’s packed with awesome action shots, quotes from riders and gives you more than a glimpse of the inner workings of Red Hook.
